NOS Introduction: 1973 240Z

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I joined the site in 2006, but have pretty much only lurked and never posted. I have a 73 240 thats been a project for the last million years (being a broke college student is not conducive to restoring a car). I recently entered a contest to win 10k to restore it so I figured I'd finally introduce myself formally. Hopefully I could win the contest and kickstart this project. Win or not, this thing needs to see some progress. Right now its living in my friends backyard under a tarp but hopefully that will change soon!

Here are some pictures of how it currently sits.

Nice dent in the quarter - a neighbor kicked it when I had it out of the garage when I was moving a few years ago. Lame.

My dad is the original owner and I pretty much inherited it when I was 16 (Im 27 now), and progress has been sloooooooooooooooow. Its got rust in the usual places and needs pretty much everything, it hasnt run since '92.

Vote for me and maybe I can finally get this thing back on the road!

Was he angry because you where leaving and he would miss his neighbor?LOL

Looks like a nice car to start with. They all have something at this stage in life. A car cant be around for 40 odd years and not show some sign of wear and tear. How are the floors and wheel well for rust. Thats the places where water can sit and do its dirty work.

Good luck with your contest

Chas

Theres a small amount of rust in the floors, but nothing serious. Most of it is on the fenders and rockers.

Im pretty sure my neighbor wasnt angry I was leaving, haha. He hated my family, anger being one of the side effects of steroids I guess.

I have my 67 chevelle parked in a house we rented out and it got the fenders doors and quarters kicked in by the nice tenants. Anyways the z looks pretty good for a start, good luck with the contest. Also i have 2 240z parts cars so if ur in need of any parts let me know.
