sopwith21 Posted February 14, 2014 Author Share #14 Posted February 14, 2014 Jiminy Christmas!!!!! $525 for windshield and gasket delivered? Ouch. Thank you for the option. At least I have one now... better than no ideas at all. I'll do it if I have to, but man alive, surely there's a cheaper alternative. I'll hit up Ebay later tonight, too. Thanks again! Anyone else got an ideeer?

sopwith21 Posted February 14, 2014 Author Share #16 Posted February 14, 2014 Aha... I just found the same one. Thanks. It's still about $150 cheaper, so that's progress.
Jeff G 78 Posted February 14, 2014 Share #17 Posted February 14, 2014 You could always swap to Lexan and save some weight.
sopwith21 Posted February 14, 2014 Author Share #18 Posted February 14, 2014 Would love to but our class requires original glass
Jeff G 78 Posted February 14, 2014 Share #19 Posted February 14, 2014 Gotcha. I run glass as well. My windshield is cracked, but the glass is clearer than my spare uncracked windshield, so I'll use the cracked one until it gets more pitted. They allow cracks as long as there isn't a structural weakness.
sopwith21 Posted February 14, 2014 Author Share #20 Posted February 14, 2014 I ran with cracked glass for a long time, but last year they freaked out and demanded it be replaced. I asked them if uncracked aftermarket glass was as strong as OEM with a crack, and if aftermarket glass was the same gauge, weight and safety, and of course they had no clue. Remember, it's not about safety... its about obedience.
madkaw Posted February 14, 2014 Share #21 Posted February 14, 2014 I have a buddy in Indy that might have a windshield to sell you
madkaw Posted February 14, 2014 Share #22 Posted February 14, 2014 Oops, he's not selling. I remember when I needed a windshield I went with safety lite glass or something and it was only 150$- that was a few years ago
djwarner Posted February 14, 2014 Share #23 Posted February 14, 2014 Since no one else has mentioned it, Black Dragon has them in their catalog for $180 + $125 truck freight. Shouldn't take too long, they are in Kansas.
