January 4, 201312 yr comment_410823 I have had good results making gaskets for the thermostat and fuel pump from a sheet of gasket material purchased at the auto part store. I have never done this on the differential but I would do it if necessary. January 4, 201312 yr comment_410866 Its easy to make with good quality gasket paper. Just fix the cover using the mustache bar studs in a bench vice (with jaw gaurds). Use the ball of a hammer and gently tap around the holes and inside of the cover. The sharp edges of the cover will cut through the paper material. The excess on the outside can be cleanly cut off when the cover is mounted. That should get you on your way.Sucess with your project. January 4, 201312 yr comment_410878 Victor reinz gasket material will do fine. Just dont use the thick sheets like 2.5 en 3.2mm. The 1.0mm is best for the diff cover gasket.Chas Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/45312-rear-diff-cover-gasket/#findComment-410878 Share on other sites
