I saw this 240Z on a trip to northern Alabama and stopped to take pictures. The car is in running condition, has some rust around fuel door, dent in pax door, interior is clean and in good condition. I wasn't able to get pics of the engine bay. This guy has been working on or rebuilding Zs since the late 70s. He had several parts cars and extra parts.

VIN 95163; 90,000 miles; Rebulit - Engine, clutch, brakes, all cylinders, New Goodyear tires.

Everything works: lights, guages, wipers, radio, new heavy duty fuse box, all fluids recently changed.

Asking $6000 but negotiable.

What is the "white" stuff on the roof? Did you look under the car by chance? Also note 2.8L engine.. I wonder if the original engine is still available with the car... If it's solid underneath, if that is the origin paint it came with from the factory... might be worth $6K... But RUST is a big factor..and the car would have to be inspected carefully.

FWIW,

I did not get to look under the car due to rain and the white stuff on top appeared to be where it had been sitting out in the sun for a long time. I believe the original engine is in the car since I saw the 2.8L in the garage along with the triple webers. The owner called me Wednesday evening since I left my card. He likes to talk about Z cars and has worked on them since the early 70's and his brother and father each own and work on them. I'm sure he would answer any questions about the car since he stated he would take $5000.

It sounds like a really a good deal for someone that can get to it and it has no more rust other than what can be seen by the fuel door. Unfortunately it is 800+ miles from me but it is seeing these kinds of cars that makes it tempting to cut my losses with mine and look for something in better condition.

I take it from the seller's note on the dash that the L28 is being thrown in with the "running car".

I got this little baby today, paid down on it, and a pretty hot motor I think. It's not the original paint but has very little rust. Interior is nice too. Has the original motor the guy did a light rebuild when he bought it in Tennessee, 20,000 miles ago. It runs very good and cranked right up without choking. We drove it, got it up to 90 mph and no steering wheel shake. Got back to his shop and turned it off then cranked right back up. Has a whole motor, needs assembling though - can't wait!, F54 block painted the same as the oil pan, E31 head with stainless 280 intake valves, 3 Weber 40mm carbs with a Canon intake, aluminium flywheel, gaskets and rings and bearings, ARP rod cap bolts and head bolts, '81 5 speed tranny, complete MSA weather stripping kit. Got me a nice project motor and a running car. Also found the painter for my '77. Thank You Mr. Dill! If there's anything I can do for you let me know, I owe you big time!
