ironhelix Posted January 9, 2013 Share #1 Posted January 9, 2013 I need to replace the side marker lights and the LH front turn signal lens on my 240z. All of these parts are NLA from Nissan (checked yesterday). I'm interested in opinions on aftermarket lenses or marker assemblies that people have purchased. It's virtually impossible to determine the quality of these items until you have one in your hand, preferably with an OEM part to compare it to. Thanks, Dave IZCC#

Mikes Z car Posted January 9, 2013 Share #3 Posted January 9, 2013 I have noticed side marker lights for sale on eBay from Thailand I believe. I need marker lights and have wondered about the quality of them. The pictures look okay but they aren't real close up.
Mike W Posted January 9, 2013 Share #4 Posted January 9, 2013 I purchased the gaskets from Black Dragon and they worked just fine. I ended up purchasing the side marker lens from an eBay seller that I had purchased from prior. Here's a link to the ones he is selling now:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Front-Side-Marker-Lamp-Lens-Set-240Z-260Z-280Z-510-NEW-/310540146003?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item484da29553&vxp=mtrI have bought a lot of items from the seller (the-z-connexion) and have never had any issue with him. He will combine shipping and his prices are a lot more reasonable that other sellers on eBay. I was also very satisfied with the quality of the product. Putting them side by side with the OEM originals, it was very difficult to tell the difference.Hope this helps.Mike.
ironhelix Posted January 10, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted January 10, 2013 Thanks, Mike. That's the kind of info I'm looking for.
SteveJ Posted January 10, 2013 Share #6 Posted January 10, 2013 I bought the ones from Thailand. The lenses look fine. The problem comes from the front marker lights. The back side of the lights are exposed to the elements. The stock Z light have a gasket that protects the back side. The rear markers do not suffer from that problem. jfa.series1 Posted January 10, 2013 Share #7 Posted January 10, 2013 +1 on the z-connexion eBay seller. I also bought items from him with good results.
rcb280z Posted January 10, 2013 Share #8 Posted January 10, 2013 I to have good luck with z-connexion from ebay
SteveJ Posted January 10, 2013 Share #9 Posted January 10, 2013 I've never had any issues with z-connexion, but just be aware that many times you're paying a premium for parts still available from Nissan.
gnosez Posted January 10, 2013 Share #10 Posted January 10, 2013 Rubber gaskets on 240Z? On 280Zs, yes. I'm guessing there are hundreds of good quality used side marker lights out there for sale.
SteveJ Posted January 10, 2013 Share #11 Posted January 10, 2013 Both of my Z cars have a gasket on the back.
