Homeboyx Posted January 30, 2013 Author Share #14 Posted January 30, 2013 The car is now on all 4. :boink: MOOG lifetime warranty? Hell yes. Didn't know it was a Duralast brand though. :headscratch: The bad... Yeaup.. positive camber. :ohgeez: Then I remember that the old broken lower arm had this installed instead of a bushing.. any idea what these are for? Camber adjustment? *crosses fingers* Both sides had these btw.. driver's side still has it.
tlorber Posted January 30, 2013 Share #15 Posted January 30, 2013 Yes, Those are to enable you to adjust camber. See the way the hole is offset? By rotating the bushing you push the LCA in or out.Car is coming along nicely-and quickly. Fire her up and get her on the road.
Homeboyx Posted January 30, 2013 Author Share #16 Posted January 30, 2013 (edited) I thought as much.. I guess I'll have to rip that bushing out of the LCA then.. Any ideas on what to use to make the job easier? Edited January 30, 2013 by Homeboyx
LeonV Posted January 30, 2013 Share #17 Posted January 30, 2013 (edited) I hope you torqued all suspension pieces with the car on the ground and loaded, as the FSM describes. Otherwise, put it back in the air (make sure you have the same type of bushing left and right), loosen and snug suspension fasteners, drop it down, load it up, and torque to spec. Homeboyx Posted January 30, 2013 Author Share #18 Posted January 30, 2013 Thanks for the heads up Leon, I wasn't aware I had to torque them down while on the ground. Also, does anyone know what that adjustable camber piece is called?

Camber adjustment? *crosses fingers* Both sides had these btw.. driver's side still has it. They are available at MSA or Dragon Auto. Its a simple way to do minor chamber corrections. Motorsport! bartsscooterservice Posted January 31, 2013 Share #22 Posted January 31, 2013 Nice progress so far . Here in NL we take the car to an alignment shop, they will do the work with computer alignment equipment, it's far easier. Maybe that's an option for you? Found this to, if you want to do yourself:
EuroDat Posted January 31, 2013 Share #23 Posted January 31, 2013 You might want to read this thread. John has done reserch on the best settings for the z but its not that simple to get a shop that wants to spend the time getting it right.http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/wheels-tires-brakes-s30/47764-alignment-shops-arghhhh.htmlChas
