June 27, 201311 yr comment_426474 Nice ! Now you can also clean, inspect all the parts from your first one, and swap to the new body. WTF happened on the last pic ? The original holes are still there.. weld the other ones shut and smooth out, or weld in a part from your old car. June 27, 201311 yr Author comment_426476 Not sure what happened to the shock towers.. I think one of the previous owners wanted camber plates without actually buying camber plates. Haha I don't have a welder.. and even if I do manage to buy one I doubt my home circuit will be able to provide the juice I need, hell, my 26(?) gallon air compressor is struggling as it is. June 27, 201311 yr comment_426516 Well you can still use it, but it would be nice if there was just 3 holes left maybe you can hire some welder or a friend who can help you? The original mounting holes are still there, so he'd better weld the extra holes shut, or just keep it that way. I don't think he's on a mega budget. June 28, 201311 yr comment_426598 Im wondering why the PO slotted one side and just drilled extra holes in the other. Did you ask the PO about it? Maybe he can explain why he did it like that. June 29, 201311 yr Author comment_426608 It wasn't the previous owner who did that, it was the previous owner before him. I'm thinking that he wanted some camber plates without buying camber plates. June 29, 201311 yr comment_426619 He might have done one side first and realised there just aint that much movement with standard springs and insulator:stupid:. Made a mess of the strut tower, which is a shame. The rest of the car looks great. The slots don't extend all the way to the original holes, but they are close. If you don't get it repaired or at least plates welded in the slots, it might haunt you later. That depends on how hard you drive the car. June 29, 201311 yr comment_426623 I agree with Chas. There are too many holes that lost do much strength of the strut tower. Better to patch plate for safety reason too.
