Took apart the original brake calipers to rebuild them but two of the four pistons are shot, rust breaking through the hard chrome. I haven't checked yet but kinda doubt Nissan will be still be selling these.

Guess I could have new hard chrome re-plated onto them, or put an ad out for anyone that have changed out their front calipers for something else that maybe they could sell me their old pistons.

Any other ideas?

Just checked Rock Auto and they have them in stock.

You have to look at later model years, like 1974, to actually see the stock they have, but I do believe they were all the same from 1970 through 1976 (at least). They were not all that expensive either at $9 - $11 or so.

I have a '76 280 that I just pulled the calipers off of. PM me if you are interested. They worked, but I have no plans to disassemble them so it would be "as is"

Replating will not work unless you can figure a way to deal with the pits the rust left in the metal. Check the bores too. Rust could have pitted these as well. Rock Auto is a source but I just saw one single piston on eBay the other day.

Nissan still have them. Here they cost €32.60 ea. I found this guy when I did mine in november. They are the same right through to 280Z.
