I purchased this front spoiler today, and I was wondering if someone could give me more information on it. What I know is that it's a NOS piece, bought from a dealership that closed down in the late 70s. It had a tag that said "72-78 Z cars" (Not sure why 70-71 wouldn't work). I wasn't able to completely mount it up to the car because I have a BRE already attached. It does however, go all the way and touch the wheel wells. I'd love to know the history of it and what kind of value it has.

With the way the spoiler wraps around and how round it is, I almost want to say it's for the gnose front clips.

That looks like a fiberglass repro of this front spoiler which was available for the S30 and HS30. The Nissan spoiler is made of a coated flexible material. It appears to fit in a very similar manner to yours.

Those are the pictures I took of the OEM chin spoiler that I had - I sold it to Burton Brown for use on a Bonniville Speed run. While somewhat flexible that one was molded fairly straight across like the lower finisher panels of the 240Z's. I think the spoiler that the OP Posted is for a late 260Z or 280Z body - mostly because the lower finishers on those bodies were rounded down, for the larger radiators used. I doubt it would fit a 70-73 240Z or early 74 260Z. May have just been tagged incorrectly in the dealers inventory..

I have a BRE spoiler for the 280Z's that looks a lot like the one the originally ask about. The BRE unit is fibergalss, but has the same more round line to fit the lower finisher panels on the 280Z. Although the BRE unit extends down toward the ground farther.

I'm still in the dark about the history and info on this spoiler. It wraps around from fender to fender, longer then the BRE style, and for the 260-280z cars. I've searched everywhere and have yet to see another one.

This is the chin spoiler that I have on my '71 street car. I've been looking for a replacement for 2-3 years, after damaging the one on the car.
