My Datsun 240Z

The Mustang is driving me crazy.. the shop here in The Netherlands who build the AOD, forgot to modify other things like the input shaft and transgo shift kit. He only put in the clutch pack. Even the converter was wrong. So it shifted way to early in kickdown and also the converter grabbed way to quick ! He has been re-doing it, I hope to pick it up end of this week or begin next week, and then have it back under the Mustang before winter kicks in. I will further drive and tune it then in spring..

Hope it can handle the horsepower and torque of the 351C now.. It seems there are few shops with experienced people left who can build a decent automatic tranmission when it comes to performance ? ...

A goed comparison could be trying to get a goed tune done on your Volvo 1800E with D-tronic fuel injection. Although if I go by my mates troubles he is having with his 1800E, not much better than Barts experience. It could be just anything old over here and you are in trouble looking for any kind of speacialist.

True. Bought it seems I bought from a scam shop in the US.. cause there was my first one from. Paid them 2.2k for the AOD alone.

There are good shops out there, but they seem hard to find. Everybody is out for a quick buck...

I did told myself this is the last thing I will be spending out. Everything else I will do myself, even if it takes a learning book on it, I could prob do a better job.

Yeah it's mostly the hours that I need to pay, and the hourly rate here in EU ( NL ) is much higher then in the US..

I'm just getting tired of shops doing a lazy half job all the time and me paying big bucks for it, be it with ( classic ) cars, or in my work with scooters ( thing I need to repair that other shops have done a bad job on ) or construction. There are hardly any real professionals these days left, although many claim to be....

And the trend goes on.. not many people want to get their hands dirty anymore these days, so technical people will be outsourced more and more from abroad.

Winter is coming, the Z is going back to sleep this week untill March 2020.

I had the chance to buy good quality floord boards and frame rails with Joop Stolze ( where I bought the Z also ). It's one of the last 2 things I want to do to the Z..  I will do that in the coming years, not in a state of hurry on that. But back in 2012 I let somebody else repair the floors, but I don't like the job he did, he repaired it with sections of universal sheet metal and the job was not so nice to my standards. The body shop replaced everything else the last time, but not the floors, I told them will do these myself.

The other thing is replacing the hood hinges. These are underway from Canada. Big thanks to zKars and Namerow...

Hope that will solve the hood aligning problem.

Sometimes they do come up, and my series 1 choke knob is missing a little piece where the screw is, I made an offer of 150 USD on this one, and bought it. So I hope I can get the screw out after soaking it in WD40 or something, w'll see. it comes with cables to, so I can refurb this one, and swap it out with the old one next year or so.
