Currently I have the diff and the driveshaft for the euro version 240z ready. Still working on the transmission, need to find parts first. ( FS5C71A )

There are parts damaged or worn out. I asked Kats if he can have a look there in Japan 🧐.

1 Gear is damaged and needs replaced.

Also synchro rings and selector forks 1-4…  bearings and seals

Some update:

I did a lot of searching and e-mails to Datsun clubs and people around the world. Also Kats helped in this. A shop in Australia could also help me with parts for the FS5C71A. Then by luck, a garage here in Brabant Pronvince, close to Zeeland, had a complete transmission laying around ! How luck is that ?

I'm going to pick it up coming weeks, then drop it off at the transmission shop so he can check it out, and then I can complete my original 240Z 5 speed swap in the future.

Picked it up. Next stop dropping it off at the rebuild shop, where the other damaged fs5c71a is.. now we can finally complete this.. 👌

I called the shop today, he will try to have a look on the other 5 speed coming weeks. Im not in a hurry, he is alone and has lots to do..

So when that is finished I have everthing complete to swap the drivetrain to the euro spec..  I will see when could take a few years, have plenty of things to do now, currently restoring 2 classic mopeds from here ( kreidler and zundapp ).. and also this winter have to finish welding work on the 67 chevelle.

He finally seems to have started on the 5 speed 😄. Let's be patient..   I pulled the 240Z out of winter storage VERY late this, year, just weeks ago. Winter stayed very long...   It's still 18c during the day, for the time of the year it's cold..    I replaced a fuel line and filter in the engine bay, and in the summer I will do the valve adjustments again. Some basic stuff. Clean up the engine bay.

Last week I had a kind of sad request... some guy my parents know, was dying of cancer, and one of his last wish was to see and drive in a 240Z, so who am I to refuse that ?  Was glad I could make his day.. 🙂

Some pictures of that...

Bart, Looking goed as always👍

Thanks Chas, i'm doing my best to keep it in good condition. In the fall it will go to the paint shop, to have some spots re-done, and the rear hatch deck ( common issue ).

How are you doing lately?

Bad weather last 3 weeks, battery was flat. Time to start today and drive some..

Saw the return hose dripping, replaced all the rubber fuel lines and oem filter. I did have some fuel smell in the cabin with the windows down, thats gone now, so it was that. 😴
