August 31, 20159 yr Author comment_476739 Bart, You might need to get the radiator cleaned. Years ago I had a MKII Escort and it would overhaet in weather over 40 degc. I ended up putting a Capri radiator in it. My friends 240Z never had that problem and it was standard with no cooling mods or upgrades. PS: She is ooking good, Bart. Job well done. Can't wait to see her next weekend. Radiator was cleaned out a while back, those crappy Ebay temp sensors ! August 31, 20159 yr comment_476786 The 81d C is right about where it should be. Look for a short somewhere in the harness or behind the temp gauge... September 5, 20159 yr Author comment_477048 The 81d C is right about where it should be. Look for a short somewhere in the harness or behind the temp gauge... But it was 115c below the thermostat on the IR. Didn't really think about that, but should have given me a clue... But anyhow it's fixed now, temp meter is staying in the middle or just a touch to the right of that. September 7, 20159 yr Author comment_477158 Yesterday I visited another Japanese classic car event in the city of Boxtel ( about 45 min drive from my place ) with one of my friends. One entrance there was a " drive through " photoshoot, so here's a cool picture ! Lots of interest into the 240Z, I'm happy to see the younger folks showing some interest, but also older people where interested. I also met an older guy who's been restoring classic cars since the late 60's and worked for Fokker aviation doing the sheet metal work, interesting talk.. I also recieved the final appraisal report for the Insurance, the value was quoted at € 28.500 or $ 31.784 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/45423-my-datsun-240z/?&page=32#findComment-477158 Share on other sites
September 12, 20159 yr Author comment_477432 Luck is on my side again... Was going to town to wash the car, came back and parked it here on our own area at home, needed to help a customer. The moment I am doing that I see the visitor from my neighbour drive his work van straight into the front of my 240z.. (*@#&!@&!@ Dammit ! Just got it done ( alot of problems with the chrome work and paint allready ) and now this.. Filled in the papers and it's going to be fixed offcourse, but i'm pretty angry because he could have looked before driving away in reverse.. Here's some pictures, the hood seems okay, but you never now, the chassis wil have to be inspected etc.. Don't know yet have to call the Insurance first on monday and work from there. Parts may need to come from the US again because nothing is available here.. Offcourse it's going to be fixed but it didn't have to be...
