Zedyone_kenobi Posted January 25, 2013 Share #1 Posted January 25, 2013 www.pmbperformance.com That was the site that conedodger told us about. I sent off my old painted brake calipers after the rally when they began to pull hard to the left each time I hit the pedal. Eric @ pmb performance took them apart and rebuilt, polished, and then restored them to factory new. He even put the brake pads I wanted in them (porterfields I believe), and the return service as outstanding, as was the communication. I had both pistons badly pitted and one was sticking in the bore. I am more than pleased with the results... here is what I sent him... Here is what came back... Standing ovation for this company as far as I an concerned. I can rebuild calipers, but this is worlds beyond what I can do...VERY nice job
jfa.series1 Posted January 25, 2013 Share #2 Posted January 25, 2013 Zowee! Looks like something more appropriate to a display case than putting back on the car.
Mike W Posted January 25, 2013 Share #3 Posted January 25, 2013 Steve,I knew you were planning to do this based on the discussions we had during the rally, but those look just awesome. Congrats. Makes me want to take mine out yet again and have them restored. I do have a spare set of calipers......hmmmmmBTW I'm planning to attend the San Antonio coffee and rides tomorrow am and then hooking with the local Z club on a drive to Corpus to meet up with the Houston Z club folks. Meeting at hooters in corpus. Hope you can make it. It would be great to see you again. Mike.

conedodger Posted January 26, 2013 Share #5 Posted January 26, 2013 (edited) Eric is the man when it comes to brakes, that's for sure! I see he did his usual job with yours Steve... I estimate that between my three sports cars, the 911, the 914, and the 240Z Eric has done probably six sets of brakes for me. He also rebuilt my control arms in the rear of my 914 and supplied a special type of bushings I wish we're available for the Z because they're AWESOME! He also supplies all my brake pads and I go through some brake pads!Mitchell and mike, you should give him a call... Zedyone_kenobi Posted January 26, 2013 Author Share #6 Posted January 26, 2013 That houston Z event is going to be a great one! I wish I could come, but my wife is in mandatory bed rest and is 2 cm dilated and we are expecting my 2nd baby boy any day now. I cannot travel far from the house, but believe me when I say my Z is shaking with anxiousness wanting to go blast around corpus. The weather is going to be STUNNINGLY good. I am not even sure when I will get a chance to install these beauties. But I better do it quickly as in before the little one comes.

Travel'n Man Posted March 22, 2013 Share #10 Posted March 22, 2013 (edited) OK - so I could not help myself - even with the purchase of the BMW X6 the mods have to go on...........just ordered Porterfield fronts AP114/RS4 and rears 411/RS4, and stainless steel brake hoses. I just can not see the need for a big brake kit for a car that is not tracked. I'll run this for a couple of years with a damn good bleed job and see what kind of brakes I have with this modified engine.............I'm sure it will be more than enough. I've got an upgraded Master Cylinder if needed for a front upgrade if this does not do the trick.....................The Tail of the Dragon will let me know at ZDayZ 2013.Look here to see if your buddies are making the drive, almost 500 owners registered to drive one of the greatest roads in America:http://zdayz.com/ Edited March 23, 2013 by Travel'n Man
spitz17 Posted July 12, 2013 Share #11 Posted July 12, 2013 Steve, how has the restore worked out for you?Rob - I just purchased a set of Sumitomo's from Eric as well. He will be doing my 911 brakes too!
Zedyone_kenobi Posted July 12, 2013 Author Share #12 Posted July 12, 2013 His brakes have been awesome. They bled perfectly and have been working like a charm. I noticed a more immediate brake pedal when I installed them, and the brakes bite harder. I would not hesitate to do this again.
