Time Capsule 1973 Datsun 240Z Hits The Block

On February 15, the vehicles of the Bruce Weiner Microcar Museum, located in Madison, Georgia, will be sold by RM Auctions.

I just realised I have the same wheels on my Z. Are these stock?

A pretty amazing collection - worth downloading the Digital Catalog.. great info on lots of mini-cars. There is also a 76 TR-6 with a few thousand miles - $30K to $40K expected. I'm afraid that runing this whole lot at one place and time - will not bring top prices for any of them. Looks like all will be sold with no reserve..

all 240z came with steel wheels and hubcaps. either D caps or z caps. as for the auction price i don't think it will reach 20K. more closer th 15K.

negatives are- it's a flattop 73- door panel chrome coming off- and not sure but looks to be a flaw on the dash.

Now that I can see better pictures of the car - I'd have to agree that $20K might be top money at auction, but it would be a bargain at $15K. While it is a very nice survivor, with lots of pluses there are noticeable flaws that knock it out of the Condition #1 or #2 rating. It is a very solid #3 Condition example with that added PLUS for still having its original paint from the factory etc.

If there are buyers there that love - original unmolested examples {aka Survivors} - even with a few flaws - it could go for $20K or more. On the other hand, with "Sell Everything" type Clearance Sale auctions - buyers are there hoping for a few bargains.

It would be interesting to watch...

Mine has those mags too. The guy I bought it from said they were a dealer add on as was the A/C. He called them 'Slotted Wheels, or Slots'.

The Georgia Z Club took a trip to the museum shortly before it closed. No one mentioned any Z cars in the collection.

You learn something everyday, thanks. Well at least I got the stock wheels then, I think polished they look great

Look nice overall, but they might want to put the front bumper over-riders on the right way up

Also agree that it looks like the dash either has, or is about to have, 4 cracks in it. It was also recently (last year or two) registered here in GA, since it has the new-style license plate on it.
