January 30, 201312 yr Author comment_413511 Thanks for your support my friend. Now I would like to organize this knowledge in my head a little.Herds the questions :I assume that we have 1969 Nissan's F4W71A, first from left in table on page 9, and following 1970 Nissan's FS5C71A, plus two racing sets - right ?Then Amdt-p2 shows Nissan's F4W71B and FS5C71B both from Sep.1971 - right ?And what do we see on Amdt-p1 ?PSI try to determine the date of manufacture, not FIA approvedthanks again HS30-H Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/45541-all-gear-sets-from-fia-3023/#findComment-413511 Share on other sites
January 30, 201312 yr comment_413564 From the left: F4W71A ( fitted to HLS30 / S30-S from Oct. 1969 ) FS5C71A ( fitted to H(L)S30 / S30 / PS30 / PS30-SB from Oct. 1969 ) Then in the middle, the July 1971 amendment with the optional 'Direct-Drive' version of the 71A ( 1:1 fifth gear, 'Dogleg' / 'Low Back' shift pattern ), which was never available as showroom stock equipment on an S30-series Z, but certainly was available as a 'Sports Option' part before the end of 1970. Then on the right the January 1972 amendment with the F4W71B ( fitted to HLS30 / S30-S from October 1971 ) and FS5C71B ( H(L)S30 / S30-S / PS30 from October 1971? ) There were several optional gearsets available for the F5C71B ( 1:1 'Direct Drive' / Dogleg 5-speed ) and FS5C71B ( Overdrive 5-speed ). There are possibly some other pages of the 3023 with relevance to transmissions that might be produced to satisfy road vehicle licensing / legality. Maybe a better way to get what you need might be to identify what you need to establish, and then seek out the data to support it. There are several ways that might get you to where you need to be..... Alan T. January 30, 201312 yr comment_413566 Although probably not relevant, I do have a page of the 3023 document that lists the Jatco automatic as legal for Group 3 starting May 1973. Not that anyone every ran one... :-) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/45541-all-gear-sets-from-fia-3023/#findComment-413566 Share on other sites
January 31, 201312 yr Author comment_413588 HS30-H first, thanks for all knowledge which You shared with us.Now only way to describe what I'm trying to achieve now, is an attempt to get whole picture of this car.U see, 240Z is my dream car and I have to confess that it is extremely rare in Poland - so I can not just buy it.And U know, we have here some possibilities to buy, but some wrecks, or parts mostly. It's okay for me, I like the idea of saving one of these beautiful machines from certain death.Because I was able to put aside some money, I'm starting to consider an acquisition now.And I have ability to buy some dying 280, but first I would like to determine what will be the best choice.I started from gearboxes because this 280 has automatic, and this will need to change.I'd like to race later, so Im trying to follow the FIA approval too. Therefore I will have to buying parts around the world, that's why I want to be able to choose and describe them precisely. And I have to be very precise because my budget does not overthrow. (conversion rate is usually very negative for me)In other words Im trying to gather knowledge, that for example, will allow me to determine if there is any possibility co convert simplest S30 in to Z432, etc, etc.I wonder if anyone here tried collect all variants/pages of this 3023 homologation in to one complete document ? Im trying to search entire forum but it will take time. And now John, could U please share this automatic variant ? January 31, 201312 yr comment_413619 I wonder if anyone here tried collect all variants/pages of this 3023 homologation in to one complete document ? Im trying to search entire forum but it will take time. And now John, could U please share this automatic variant ?Alan and I both have the complete 3023 document set (along with a couple others on here). In my case I paid $195 for the set from ACCUS/FIA with the certification stamps, so I generally don't scan and paste pages from it on internet forums. I do sometimes answer questions. February 1, 201312 yr comment_413725 I think the Z432 is a different homogenization document. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/45541-all-gear-sets-from-fia-3023/#findComment-413725 Share on other sites
February 1, 201312 yr Author comment_413748 Hm this is strange, U see I checked full FIA Historic Pre Homologations list and there is no trace of 432Z.That's why I thought it was some attachment to 3023.I'd like to ask about this competition transmission, tho one with 1:1 fifth gear, does it have some sort of signature ?Or maybe it's just another ratios set for FS5C71A or B, or both ?I dont see anything about this in FIA approval.
