Posted February 4, 201312 yr comment_413902 The passenger side sail panel emblem on my '72 appears to have been replaced shortly before I bought it and looks mint. I would like to get it off the car without breaking the pins. Is there any way to accomplish this? I have a good arsenal of tools but not sure if I have one for this job. Any guidance is greatly appreciated. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/45581-removing-sail-panel-emblem-how/ Share on other sites
February 4, 201312 yr comment_413903 Insert a plastic or wood pry flat bar in the slot on the rear side of the emblem (they're sided, open edge faces to the back) and then work your way around the car slowly.E Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/45581-removing-sail-panel-emblem-how/#findComment-413903 Share on other sites

February 4, 201312 yr comment_413947 There are 3 pins surrounded by steel barrel clips. Using EScanlon's method, when you can determine where the pins are, a drop of lube on them might help with removal as they might have rust, depending on age.
