February 18, 201312 yr Author comment_415302 A brake line going out is a REAL headache.Yeah, probably not something I could fix with a pair of clippers and screwdriver in my work's parking lot like this was. HahaI'm sure most of my hoses could benefit from being replaced. Or really just an overhaul in general. But that's not gonna happen until I get myself another daily driver and some work space. August 4, 201410 yr comment_452718 Do you happen to know the length and diameter of the Top Engine Heater Bypass Hose? Can I use a straight black rubber hose ,not threaded like the original? Also, about how long doe it need to be? This is the top one that goes through the car to the heater. It is leaking. Thanks! August 4, 201410 yr comment_452720 Plain old rubber 5/8" heater hose will work. It's fairly cheap, just buy four feet or so and cut it to fit. Buy five feet in case you make a mistake. There is no hose that goes "through the car" to the heater. There's one from the firewall back to the water pump inlet, another shorter one from the back of the cylinder head to the firewall, and a couple of short ones inside the cabin, pre-bent to the proper shape.
