How good is the 240 emergency brake supposed to be? Wondering if mine is shot. Tried to break the rear end loose ala Paul Walker at the parking structure in Tokyo Drift but no dice. It's OK for parking on a hill and will eventually bring the car to a stop but that's about it. Haven't inspected the rear brakes.

If it will hold the car on a hill, then it is pretty good. Thats good enough for me as we consider it a parking brake down here.

Yanking the handle and trying to lock up the rear wheels will result in cable stretch.

Thanks, cable stretch sounds bad so guess I'll give up on that idea. Remember driving my mother's VW bug with one hand on the emergency brake, it broke out the rear end really easily especially on dirt. Sorry mom ....

A flashback to one of my former lives when I used a handbrake turn on a very tight 180 degree turn to win an autocross on the grounds of the State Fair of Texas.

But do remember that even if everything is new and good, it won't be all that powerful. It's worth noting that the correct name for it is not "emergency" or "hand" brake, but "parking brake". It was designed for use when parked. Just that, nothing more.
