Posted February 25, 201312 yr comment_416083 Hi guys,I need some advice. I have found some very special air horns but the length is 100MM. I will be running a Kameari intake manifold (regular length, not short) with 40 mikuni carbs. My car is stuck under snow and I cant go out and measure. Will the air horns be too long? ThanksEdit: My car is a USDM vehicle. These air horns are for JDM vehicles and their brake masters are on the opposite sides. February 25, 201312 yr comment_416148 4" air horns might fit but they will be right up against the air filter top. Not a good idea. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/45820-help-maximum-carb-air-horn-length/#findComment-416148 Share on other sites

February 26, 201312 yr comment_416270 Interesting question. If they fit, I don't know if you'll be able to run any type of air cleaner, short of the stainless mesh strainers that are available. Another consideration is carb sync, it may be a tight squeeze. Hard to say without knowing your total length from head to carb inlet. February 26, 201312 yr comment_416273 For the air filter fitment the thing that matters most is the distance from the carb body to the end of the velocity stack. I have an ITG air filter here and the distance from the mounting plate on the carb body to the top (end) of the filter is 3.5". February 27, 201312 yr Author comment_416336 This is the picture of the air horns. They are from a very well known Japanese tuner and built for mikuni 40. These are on a hako (skyline) info so far: Kameari carb manifold : 5 inches Air horns : 4 inches Mikuni 40 : ?? inches Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/45820-help-maximum-carb-air-horn-length/#findComment-416336 Share on other sites
February 27, 201312 yr comment_416371 I love those horns simply because they fully are radiused at the ends! I've been recently thinking about modifying my air horns to give the ends a full radius since I hadn't seen long, radiused horns for triples. Maybe I won't have to... March 1, 201312 yr comment_416556 There's also EFI hardware who make these stacks, 105mm long but can be shortened anywhere between 105-60mm. They have a full radius bellmouth and a tapered bore, starting at 79mm o.d. The bases are removable so you can shorten the stacks with no issues. These are their 40mm stacks to suit weber, dellorto, mikuni. Very well priced too.
