Posted March 1, 201312 yr comment_416594 I have a 12/71 240Z. The shifter that came out of it is straight with threads on both ends. After looking at many threads, can that be right? I have the opportunity to cut my tunnel now. I'm putting in a f54 block,83 close ratio 5 speed. After reading many threads, I don't know what will work.(shifter hitting tunnel, console). I read where I can use 240 shifter without cutting tunnel. Which brings me back to the first question about my straight shifter. Any info or help? Thank you very much, TimsZ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/45883-shifter-question/ Share on other sites
March 1, 201312 yr comment_416609 Sounds like a Type A 4spd, probably original. You'll need to either bend into more of an S shape or use a Nissan competition shifter. Search the site, many more threads with more detailed info than I can provide. March 2, 201312 yr comment_416616 There are a few threads on this site that give a detailed description of shifters and tunnel work required-with pictures. I'm not being lazy or flippant here, but I am on the iPad and it is harder to find and post the links (at least for me) than when on the computer.
