Kinda Cool

How rare is a original car cover....This came with my '72....original 99.9% prestine condition...along with the storage bag....Pretty cool, huh?

Based on the "92" code number on the front, it appears to be a Made in the USA Covercraft brand aftermarket cover with a Datsun logo screened on the front. Not as rare as it might seem. Sorry to rain on the parade.

Well at least we know what to buy now.

Now that you know the "What", here's the "Where".

Covercraft PartLink Plus

Covercraft has changed and added new materials over the years, so you won't see the "EN" (92/EN) fabric seen in the picture on their current site. However, the "92" pattern designator for the early Z remains the same. Good products and last a long time. I was a distributor for them last century.

Dennis...How long of a run was the "EN" fabric? Is it now discontinued?

Not sure when the EN fabric designator was dropped. Your cover looks like the typical polycotton covers that were good for blocking sun and keeping bird droppings off the car. They were not waterproof and allowed moisture to evaporate out through the fabric. They can be tossed in the washer and dryer as needed.

I don't have any Z covers left but still have a few Porsche covers that are left over from my "selling" days.

Well I've learned two things from this thread...That the car cover is not original....but more important, next time I think I have something, instead of saying "This IS"....I will start with "IS THIS".Lesson learned! And don't worry Dennis,my parade has been rained on a helluva worse than this.
