SteveJ Posted March 10, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted March 10, 2013 I left a comment on the thread asking him where the junkyard was.

Hardway Posted April 4, 2013 Share #6 Posted April 4, 2013 No surprise there and I am shocked whoever sold it to the junkyard did not part it out on their own. I am sure they had their reasons and hopefully the parts are going on to another car to bring it back to life. However I agree with the comment as I am sure someone got out there with some tools and stripped it to resell the parts.
Montezuma Posted April 4, 2013 Share #7 Posted April 4, 2013 That car looked pretty solid coming in. One wonders why it would not be sold whole.
Darrel Posted April 5, 2013 Share #8 Posted April 5, 2013 It was a loved car at one point. It did have a respray. I don't remember if I felt along the top of the rear wheel wells for any obvious dubious body work. It did have rust coming through the rocker panels. If it was running and had title they probably would have tried to sell it. This yard does try to sell cars before they are put out in the yard. But they would have to run first try with the key.It hard to say how cars get to yards like that. I test drove a 620 pickup. It ran ok, not a lot of rust but enough to turn me away. Probably 3 months later it was at a yard. Lost keys, lost title, but who touches a car without a title? I find that most that go into yards are not running and are donated to non profit and they go directly to the auctions.BTW it was at the you pull and pay yard in denver. That itself was built on a small landfill hill.
SteveJ Posted April 5, 2013 Author Share #9 Posted April 5, 2013 Darrel, is there any chance that the passenger side dogleg was in good shape? If so, is there any chance of you getting it for me?
Darrel Posted April 5, 2013 Share #10 Posted April 5, 2013 I don't have a battery operated sawzall. There was rust starting to come through along with bondo showing. I didn't pay much attention after that.
Mikes Z car Posted April 5, 2013 Share #11 Posted April 5, 2013 Here they prop up the car VIA the brake drums perched on the the rims turned flat to the ground. How does one get suspension parts off in that scenario since they are being used to prop up the car without risking life or limb?

I didn't pay much attention after that.I only bought a battery powered sawzall a few months ago myself. When you mentioned rust in the earlier reply, I figured it was a long shot anyway. Thanks.
