Holy cow! Trying to post to the classifieds is beyond brutal. Not even practical. Where are you guys posting your stufff for sale these days? I have multiple stuff for multiple year cars with various prices. I am not jumping through the thousand or so hoops to get an ad posted here. Clearly there is a better way or something I am missing.

Maybe it is just me. I am 52, can navigate around on the computer but am not a whiz. I simply CAN NOT post an ad on this site. So, perhaps someone can hold my hand and walk me through it. I click on the create an ad button, and that is the end of the game. NOTHING more in a forward process. I have spent an hour at it his morning, trying to figure out how to even get to an aleged 2nd of 6 steps. Seriously, the program as displayed is a total waste of my time. I should be able to go to 1, Post an Ad, 2, type or location, ie, parts, car, etc, 3, type in description, 4, add photos, 5 be done. Can't do any of this as it is. IT SIMPLY SHOULD NOT BE THIS DIFFICULT!

IdahoKidd, so sorry about your issues. I was working on the server for the past few days and the new ad page was screwed up. Can you try again? I appreciate the help and the feedback!

IdahoKidd,

Its not just you. I just had the same result as you, seeing your post I went there and can't get past create ad either. Maybe the system is temporarily stuck? I am using IE 8 for a browser if that means anything.

Mike

Yes, it was stuck. Can you try the new system to see if it's better?

IE 8 here too. Wondered if it were something more. And I don't mean to be critical or a whiner, I get frustrated with things that don't work like (I think) they should.

Guys, I made a few BIG improvements over the past few days to try and help make this easier. Here's what I did:

1) Removed the "ad package" choice.. In the past, the system asked you to pick "free ad" from the list of ad packages. I removed this step to help make the process easier and less confusing.

2) Parts category. I also opened the general parts category (name is "All Datsun/Nissan Parts" to allow ads. This means that you are NO LONGER required to pick a subcategory.

Please give these new features a try and let me know if it's working (and less confusing).

Mike

Mike,

It is better, I got to step 2 with no problem. I don't have anything for sale at this time so didn't go further as I wasn't sure how far I could go before I got to the point of no return.

Mike

Hey Mike, you can follow through and create a bogus ad if you want. It can be deleted from the list of ads in your account later on. Can you try a few for me?

m

Mike,

I am willing to try a few ads but now the classifieds won't let me login for some reason. I may still be logged in on a PC computer from a few hours ago, I don't know if that would have an effect but I logged in to Classiczcars okay on this Mac computer just now. The odd thing is that on the other computer earlier today I could create an ad. On that PC computer when I clicked away from classczcars and onto the classifieds I was not asked for my password. I am asked by the classifieds to login on this Mac computer, but now using the Mac it won't accept my classiczcars password.

So far the score is:

computer: human:

1________0

Mike

Maybe since IdahoKidd got an ad up there is no problem. Still willing to try further, any idea how to fix the password issue with the classifieds?

Mike, the passwords are no longer shared between CZCC and DatsunClassifieds. You might have seen a saved password or something in your cache from the other PC. If you no longer know your password at Datsunclassifieds, use the forgot password and reset it to match the password you use at CZCC.

I tried keeping the same password files between servers but the system would just not work correctly, so, the systems are now separate.

Just working through the ad submittable form. Can you guys help me out? I would like to know what kind of fields we need in there. We essentially have four types of forms:

1) Automobile Form

2) Parts Form

3) Want-Ad Form

4) Accessories Form

If you can take a look at the existing forms, and let me know if I'm missing something, it sure would help. Thanks!

Mike,

Thanks for the info, it got me quickly on the right road. Here are the two bogus practice ads, both were easy:

Note that I have a legitimate want ad for a 240Z mirror swap. Also note that the score is improving:

I'd keep it really simple.

1) Cars for sale

2) Cars wanted

3) Parts for sale (i.e. anything that's not a car)

4) Parts wanted (i.e. anything that's not a car)
