Anyone modified a later 15/16" BMC to fit 240z?

I accidentally bought the 15/16" BMC for an '83 280ZX, not realizing the bolt-on upgrade was the '79-'81 part. Shame on me for not researching enough.

While I have this here (and because Rock Auto doesn't have anything readily available), has anyone modified a later 15/16" BMC to fit a 240z booster? It looks as though I could potentially dremel out the BMC to make the 2 screws align, but I'm not sure what would happen with the top 2...

Thanks in advance.

Because I'm cheap and stubborn.

Thanks Peter, that's actually a good idea. I hadn't really considered that. Is that what you're running? If so, how's the pedal feel? I don't have plans yet to go disc in the rears, but if the feel & travel aren't too awful with the 1", perhaps it's a great idea. Cheers, and thanks!

Have you checked hybrid z? I thought I remembered reading about someone doing that, but if memory serves they also used the '83 booster and pedal.

I actually have a ZX booster, but son-of-a-gun that thing is big (in terms of firewall interference)! Figured I'd just go with a new 240z booster instead.

Brake Master Cylender

Hard to believe that page has been online for 15 years! If you can think of it somebody has likely already tried it.

I believe the booster will work. You simply have to remove or relocate a valve under the big nuts at the bottom. Do some searches and you will find it.

I appreciate it, Blue. The booster I have is used, and as this point everything else I've purchased is new (to include a 240z booster). That'll have to be a modification later down the road, but good to know it can be done. Thanks.
