OEM Ignition Coil

Hi guys. I've searched the forum and I cannot find a straight forward question as to a source/manufacture of an OEM equivalent ignition coil for a stock 1971 (Series 2) 240Z with points. Please do not suggest switching to an electronic ignition because it's not going to happen. I am keeping my points. It needs to look and perform like stock. I will be using it with a NOS Nissan ballast resistor. It can be a little hot but nothing that is going to negatively affect the rest of my electrical system.

Thanks,

Matt

If you're not needing a Nissan part, Rock Auto has 3 that are OEM replacements from $28-$39 (same cylindrical shape to fit the bracket). Also listing a Beck-Arnley that doesn't look like an OEM cylinder, but has what looks to be a brand new ballast resistor. From the site pic it looks very much like the stock resistor if you want to refresh that.

Thanks for the responses. I would prefer Nissan OEM or similar. Salvage yard is out of the question as this is a restoration. Can it be as easy as ordering from Courtesy Parts? I've had some bad luck ordering from large parts supplies where they may have the item listed but once I place the order I'll get an email the next day saying the part is NLA.

To the OP...I simply installed the PerTronix Ignitor in my distributor and have my points and condensor in the car, and am running the stock ballast resistor and stock 1.5 Ohm coil. No cutting, and I wrapped the wires in another layer of black electrician's tape so it looks clean, and I can roll back in no time at all. My points were not gapped properly I think, but the car is running WAY better now than before...and I can roll back anytime.

My car too is at the end of an extensive and exhaustive restoration, check the thread in the general discussions section, so I wanted it clean as well.

I've got an original at home in the box I am pretty sure. I got it off ebay right after I bought my car in 2008 and I thought my coil was bad. It was NOS in box. I will not be using it. I can take a look over the weekend and give you more info. If you're interested, send me a PM with an email address and I can email you pics and info.
