Slave cylinder hose gasket?

I thought 78sid is talking about washer between Clutch Slave cylinder and the hydraulic hose.

This is good educational thread to me also. I'm also replacing Clutch Slave cylinder and the hydraulic hose, but I lost copper washer somewhere...

I got SS hydraulic hose. I don't know whether there is any advantage compare with rubber hose or not.

I have one stupid question. Should I put locktite blue on it? or shouldn't?

No need for locktite. With both ends not going anywhere you don't need it.

Darrel,

Thanks for your advice!

Does it applicable to the brake line too? I'm rebuilding Brake Master Cylinder and booster also.

brake lines and brake master are flared fittings, no locktite. But make sure you use a flare wrench.

Washer didn't fix the problem for me so when I removed my clutch slave, I paid attention to the mating surfaces of the hose and slave. The marriage just didn't look like it was going to seat correctly. I ordered and waited for a Beck Arnley slave and hose which had obviously better surface mating. I didn't use a washer and so far leaking has not been a problem. I really think it was just the quality of the originally used replacement parts. Cheap lesson learned unless you count my time.
