Installing body kit - Need good thread

Getting ready to install MSA Type II body kit and needing some help or looking for a good previously posted thread.

I know that these things can require some slight modifications and work but really looking for advice beyond that.

I have looked through a number of psots and have not really found a good thread on installing the body kit. I plan on installing the front and rear pieces only for now. The rear piece apparently had already been installed and has a number of holes drilled. The front piece has no holes.

To start the dialogue I have read some threads that talk aout bolting on the parts and others that have used epoxy and some I think both. Thoughts?

If bolted where and what size and how many needed?

Did these things come with installation instructions or recommendations?

Any help and guidance would be appreciated.

Have you talked to the folks at MSA about installation instructions or tips you might use when installing the kit? Often, the instructions simply say, "Professional installation recommended."

Would recommend checking in on Hybridz. They do a lot of pretty wild modifications.

I will check Hybridz again. However most of the threads I find look like this one. Surely somebody out their has installed the body kit and has some advice. Maybe not as common as I thought. Just trying to make sure I do not re-invent the wheel here. If someone has learned a trick or two it would be nice to know. I will also call MSA.

I have looked at these posts and not really getting much out of them. I know there is a lot if inforamtion; however, I would really just like to mount the parts with screws so that I can remove if desired down the road and it appears that if you do much else then you are asking for trouble with having to repaint the car to many times do to cracking.

Not sure if I am understanding all this correctly but I am not really getting a clear picture of how to mount from the attached posts.

Has anyone been successful in just mounting with screws, modifying the body kit parts where needed and if so where did you place screws, how many?, and what size and type? Maybe this is just not possible.

Ok, still need some help here. I did not receive any hardware with my MSA type 2 body kit and just curious what size and how many screws are recommended. None of the threads I have found show where the kit is screwed on.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Trying to mount them this weekend.

Not sure where everybody is at that has installed the MSA body kits; however, I found a post that suggested using (3) 10mm bolts on each side of the front air dam and screws where the part meets the wheel wells.

I am going to try this and see how it holds.

Same here - I used 3 10 mm bolts on each side at the top, and 2 aluminum mounts to prevent the bottom from flexing.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. We sell a dvd that Scott made years ago that covers this very topic.

daroom, what did you attached the aluminum strap to? Also, did you fill in gaps where the air dam meets the car? If so what did you use and have you seen cracking of the paint at that area? Did you use sheet metal screws at the wheel well area and if so are they visable?
