minimum wear thickness spec for 240Z clutch plate?

It's in the FSM.

Thanks?

According to the 1972 Nissan Service Manual:

Max. plate run-out: 0.25mm

Clutch disc Facing size (new): Outer dia. x inside dia. x thickness: 225 x 150 x 3.5 mm

Hope this helps

Cheers,

George

Now, THAT's helpful. Thanks!

I figured that a professional running a restoration businesswould be all over having an official factory source for information. It's kind of surprising that you asked.

You'll still need the FSM to get the numbers you really need, the thickness of the disc facing material. Unless Dr. Z opens up the FSM again and gets some more for you.

Actually - it's not a business - it's PURELY a hobby - albeit a serious one to me. As for buying an FSM, I have 2 Datsun service books, but not the FSM. Maybe the number is one of the books I have, but they are in the shop, not in the house, so I thought I'd ask one of the fine members on the forum. I didn't ask "Where can I find the number", so I'm not sure why you replied at all.....:disappoin

The most surprising thing to me is when people like you answer a question by saying "look elsewhere". You may be unsure of how these forums work, but if you check the rules on any forum - we have been invited here to share the hobby, to help each other, to ask EACH OTHER stuff, to motivate and get motivated and to get or give valuable input.

The next most surprising thing to me is people like you who COME BACK to argue the point....:ermm:

Not sure what other numbers I'd need, as the number Dr Z was kind enough to provide showed me that the disc I have was indeed nearly new (Which also answers Diseazd questions).

;) Cheers.
