350Z finally in Oz

Well he bought it. 1st 350Z sold in OZ he reckons!!

Hasn't picked it up yet so I am still waiting to take it for a spin. Given that my 260 has been half naked and without a radiator for a month i'm looking forward to actually driving a Z again.

Still think they should have put an RB26 in it:o

My local dealer had a 350Z in the showroom today. The dealer is in East Maitland NSW, the Z was a Silver with Black interior Manual and handbrake on the left of the tunnel ( it looks along way over). This car looked like it had only had an exterior clean as the interior is completely covered with Plastics. The dealership does not have a test drive vehicle yet.

Now that I have seen the car in the flesh I must say it is impresive it does not look heavy like previous incarnations.

Rating 8 out of 10.

Cant wait to hear about a test drive.

:classic: I think you nailed it , the market wants soft , plush and easy listining . How much power does the Ampilifer have and how big are the speakers. Does it handel 6 cds or only 2 . A car with no power steering ? A car with out power windows of door locks ? O' no ! We the owners of the 240s and in Oz 260s and 280s we are a dieing breed I am afraid. My self I enjoy the feel of the wheel with no power steering , I am in my 60s and of deminished strength , but I do enjoy the feeling of being part of the car and not a-part from the car. I drive with out the radio because I enjoy the sound of the engine and the car as it corners and accelerates . I enjoy the music of the exhost at RPM . The new cars , which my wife and I have , are quiet and smooth and soft , but with out personality. For me the apeal of my 240 is that it looks sleek smooth and fast. My car looks fast when parked , not like a round toad with wheels. I love my 240 and at present it is in a thousand pieces , I am restoring it my self not sending it to a shop , I do have help from a dear friend . I will borrow a digital camera and post pic. nuff said

While cycling home through Subiaco last night I saw my 1st 350Z. It was silver, being driven by a lady along Roberts rd. I got a brief look at the front and side. The rear (apart from those angular tail lights) reminds me a lot of the Audi TT. I'll need to see one close up in a Nissan showroom before making a final judgment...

:classic: there were 4 350Zs for sale in the classified ads today they had from 1k to 3500 miles on them and were 3k or more below MSRP . Why would someone spend the bucks and drive the car 1000 miles and sell it ? Makes me wonder what is wrong with them .

  • 2 months later...

I was in Taree on the weekend just gone. Driving past the local NISSAN Dealer, we spotted a lone 350Z parked on the street infront of the dealership. The colour was spectacular it was dressed out in Le Mans Sunset, what a colour. When we returned from the other direction we spotted the same 350z with the lights on in traffic coming towards us with a potential customer doing some test driving ( trade plates on). That is the first one I have seen in that colour and it looked good.
