JLPurcell Posted April 11, 2013 Share #1 Posted April 11, 2013 I just found this on ebay and was surprised to see it listed from here in Richmond. If any one is interested I would be happy to take a look at it for them. I do not know the car or the seller. I will probably go to look at it tomorrow out of curiosity. JLPurcell Posted April 11, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted April 11, 2013 Richmond is a relatively small city, I will try to get some more information on it tomorrow. jlp

theczechone Posted April 11, 2013 Share #6 Posted April 11, 2013 I've seen that car on craigslist for a couple of months now I think his asking price was 23,000.
Carl Beck Posted April 11, 2013 Share #7 Posted April 11, 2013 Since it has been repainted - it won't bring anything close to $23K at this point. At $15K it would be a bargain and $18K it would be a reasonable buy. You would of course have to get under it and check the usual places..Looks like a very nice 240Z..FWIW,Carl B. JLPurcell Posted April 11, 2013 Author Share #8 Posted April 11, 2013 Carl, you are right on the money as usual. I just took a look at the car and it is a nice driver. I has damage to the gas tank where it was either hit in the rear or ran up on something. The right rear hatch deck has had some repair the left side has not (damage or rust?). Under the battery tray has had some paint but I do not believe it has been patched. This being a late 71 production has the vertical defrost but does not have the vents in the rear hatch. I tool some photos of the normal problem areas and have attached them. After talking with the owner I believe that this car can be purchased in the mid teens. Let me know if anyone wants more information. JLP
darom Posted April 11, 2013 Share #9 Posted April 11, 2013 Beautiful car. Thanks for the additional photos, JL.Is that a fuel leak (image 1224)? I am wondering if when the fuel tank got hit, there is now a crack?
JLPurcell Posted April 11, 2013 Author Share #10 Posted April 11, 2013 The antenna is not original, the original wheels and hub caps are in the boxes shown in the photos. The paint job shows well but is a 5 out of 10 in my estimation. The seat covers have been replaced with reproductions, the smog pump goes with the car but is locked up and has been removed and a make shift pulley put in its place. Let me know if I can help in any way even to the point of negotiation. JLP
JLPurcell Posted April 11, 2013 Author Share #11 Posted April 11, 2013 (edited) Rubber seals are deteriorated and the bumper rubber trim is hard and showing deterioration. The car has the Series 2 style tool boxes on the deck behind the seats and it looks as if the spare is the original. I hope this helps. jlp Edited April 11, 2013 by JLPurcell
