Hello everyone! After 4 years of watching my '78 280 basically just sit there, I'm finally serious about getting her back in shape. Its amazing how much I have forgotten about Zs since I parted with my 3rd Z in 1982! I'm hoping to learn from all of you and your experiences. I'm also hoping to DIY as much as possible so I can keep the Bride content!

I cant remember for the life of me how to get to the antenna mast. That quarter panel is tough. It looks like the hinge to the tailgate stay is blocking it. If I'm right then how do I get that hinge off?

I think that bracket is welded on. You'll have to carefully flex the plastic panel to clear it. I always hate removing that panel. It always seems like it's going to snap! Good luck with the project! :-)

Chuck, thanks. In fact one of the bolts on that stay bracket IS welded but the 2nd one comes out along with enough of the bracket that the panel can slide past it from the top. As I was unbolting the stay bracket I thought to myself, "Now I remember doing this along time ago!"
