Datsun 180B Specs - Help

First i want to apoligise to the moderators and all members for posting here. If you wish to delete this post i perfectly understand.

I´m still reading about Z cars but they are just to rare and expensive to buy here, so i found a Datsun 180B Coupe but i don´t know anything about it and i´m having trouble finding information in the internet. I would like to know the specs for this car, if it ist 4 or 5 speed gearbox, what are the exterior differences between a Coupe and a SSS Coupe.

Hi Rui,

No need to appogise as we have just recently been discussing 240K's as well.

180B's like 510's where part of the Australian Rally scene for many years.

In fact one of our elderstatesman in Historic Ralling still "flogs"the forest in his 180B, and get this, it's automatic!

Has managed to finish as Category Winner for the past 2 years as well.

Need more info about your find,

is it 2 door/4door, check under the bonnet to see if it has SU's, if so then it's a SSS.

May be some other Aussies can jump in and help with the visual bits, I can't remember without having them side by side, In fact, I wondering if they did come 2 door?

In Australia all the SSS's were coupes.

Badges on the C-pillar (a-la 240Z) & twin SU's (round tops).

They also had a different ignition curve & smaller combustion chambers (I think).

I can find out more info from an associate of mine who has owned around 20 of them...

He currently has a fully-restored sedan and another sedan which is his rally car.

You should be able to find out more info if you search on Datsun 610 (for the US market) and have a look on http://www.ozdat.com for Australian info.

I used to own a RA28 celica myself.

I knew someone with a sss 200b and that was a four door i believe.

on the topic of the avatar I see stony has also got that same style. My brother got one of a Twin cam mk1 Cortina on a T-shirt in the same style, (said it cost $20 US). said he ordered it from the lotus shop I think.

does anyone know if you can get the 240z on a shirt?

Thanks for the answers. A friend of mine went today to see the car (again) but i didin´t arrive yet. It seems like the car has 4 speed gearbox. As i said it´s a 3p Coupe.

He also took pictures of the engine but i havent seen them yet. I would like to know engine details and other stuff.

I´ve seen a website sayng it had independent suspension´s... but this "gadget" doesn´t a 4speed gearbox!!

I called Nissan today (Portugal) and they were very simple and conclusive: "What´s that?!! Don´t know a single thing!!" :tapemouth

I would like to save this car from a wrecker

Note: It´s a Celica RA28, but i "just" have the TA22 Euro model.
