Engine Porn

I got the starter from new-datsun-parts.com. They have a lot of good stuff but are a little expensive. That's also where I got one of my complete lock sets (which is for sale by the way). The starter is at the top of this page 240Z Parts, Electrical

It's a Nissan started remanufactured in Japan. It was the only one I can find with the yellow zinc shiny bits.

It was a hard decision to polish the valve cover. I was originally going to go for the original dull raw aluminum finish since I am doing a stock restoration but man I'm glad I went with full polished treatment. It really sets the engine bay off especially with the 901 Silver and all the CAD plated shiny bits reflecting off of it. Should be easier to clean also.

I picked up the Black OEM version that MSA sells although I think it's a 3-core. Minus the polished valve cover I'm going for OEM looks and performance. This also means the stock air cleaner housing will be going back on as well. I also ceramic coated the original exhaust manifold but will be mateing it up with the fujitsubo legalis r twice pipes exhaust system from Japan. That probobly the only aftermarket item I'm going to install, but damn it's sexy... FUJITSUBO LEGALIS R EXHAUST SYSTEM DATSUN 240Z 260Z 280Z S30 | Whitehead Performance

My in-laws lived in Merrick before moving to White Plains and I was scared making the drive from Boston to LI every time. Stay off of 95, use the Merritt and then on to 91 up to 84, the Mass Pike, then either 290 to 495 or 495 to Rt 3 north to Nashua.

Maybe we will get some drool buckets ordered.

Blindingly beautiful.

Only other comment is that if I'm not mistaken, you've got full band style aftermarket clamps on the fuel lines? If that's the case, I would recommend replacing them with Nissan clamps because the Nissan hose clamps are stainless while the aftermarket stuff is not.

I know... Tiny point to be made about near perfection!
