May 12, 201311 yr comment_423186 In Alabama,..any car "older" than 1975 does not have a title. You DO have a ceriticied registration. Yu must have the registration and a notorized Bill Of Sale from teh prior owner to be abe to transfer into your name at teh DMV.Other states have similar laws. In Georgia,..any can since 1980 does not have to have a title. You can buy a car from Alabama and get a title in your state, (if you have titles on the older cars),..simply by using the Alabama registration. It is a Transfer LAw that one state MUST honor the other states paper work.I live in Alabama and have sold numerious antique cars to people in toerg states that do have titles. I have never had anyone have a problem. When I sell a car like that,..I go to our DMV website and print off the directions for the buyers state on how to handle the transfer. May 12, 201311 yr comment_423252 Pity we can't run the year correct tags for most of the Zs here in Georgia...Only the lucky 1970 240zs get that honor. Cause if they would move it up for us, I have a 76 tag that I have my eye on at a local restaurant hehehe...
