zbump It's apparently a '74; I was misinformed earlier :S Are there '74 240's? Thought it was 260 at this point

What's the date of manufacture on the ID plate located on the driver's door jamb - or the VIN?

Vehicle Identification Number {VIN} It is visible though the windshield on the drivers side of the car - riveted to the dashboard. That same number should be stamped into the firewall on the drivers side of the car - just below where the hood closes down.

There is also a Data Plate on the Passenger Side of the car -under the hood -screwed to the shock tower. It will have the VIN and Original Engine Serial Number.

The pictures would "seem" to indicate a 240Z that was white with a red interior.

So, the wait has been nearly a year for any attempt at even working on it. After previous debate, it was decided to get the engine running first, because based on the background of this car, the engine should have been just fine. Steps were taken to revive her, but only the beginning steps. Pulled the plugs, and dropped in Marvel Mystery Oil into the holes. Let it sit for a few days, and threw a ratchet onto the bottom crank pulley, and to my surprise and misfortune, absolutely nothing. Tried more oil, and more time to sit, still nothing. Clutch was engaged, and the only turning I got was on the bolt when turning counter clock wise. Even to the point of standing on the ratchet and bouncing on it for the hope that it would just nudge enough to turn, nope.. I believe 4/6 spark plugs were fine, (maybe 3/6). The other 2 (or 3) had corrosion on the tips, the best way I could describe it was a battery acid looking corrosion that closed the gap at the end of the plugs, however it was assumed these were the plugs that were not in range of the oil due to the way the engine was sitting, and we proceeded to the mystery oil attempt.

Unfortunately, I believe this 240z project is dead in its tracks, I really don't want to have to take apart the engine, but it seems like an engine rebuild is inevitable. If this is the case, then it would result in selling the car, more than likely. That being said, any suggestions are more than welcome and to be quite frank, sought for right now.

No, it doesn't sound good. At this point turning the engine over may be a waste of time. However, you may break it loose by pushing the car in gear, & engaging the clutch while it's rolling.

While a rebuild for this engine may be inevitable perhaps a short term fix would be a swap. There are more engines avail. out there than cars. I'm sure a lot of members have spare engines for sale.

Almost all of us have had buyers remorse as we discovered the true state of our dream. Often the project grows beyond our time, talent & money. Determination & desire keep the dream alive. You're about to discover how much of both you have for this project. Keep the faith.
