It's not a survivor since it's been repainted. Looks like it has a plastic fan and the clutch pedal pad is missing. 56000 miles and the pedal pads are that worn and one's missing? That doesn't jive. The car looks very good nice though.

Clean interior showing little wear. The "Factory AC" comment and the picture of the Datsun Air Conditioner servicing decal are interesting.

The choke knob isn't original. Doesn't surprise me that it would have a plastic fan. The metal fans had the habit of throwing a blade and the plastic ones deliver higher capacity. 26th was converted early in her life. Looks like a fairly clean car and I would hope he sees the $16,000 he's looking for.

Seems like a nice car from the pics, but pics are often quite generous with the paint jobs. That area around the fuel filler panel looks pretty bad. There are several chips and many paint cracks. Something tells me that is not the only bad area, but I could be wrong.

No smog? Looks like most of the smog items have been removed, fuel rail painted silver, and as noted earlier, the plastic fan and screw clamps on naked radiator hose. Engine compartment could use a bit of clean-up as well.

The AC looks to be of newer vintage but not fully up on this. I thought the early ‘factory installed’ AC compressors were those monster size 600cc units hanging near the fuel pump. This one is in the smog pump location and is a pretty clean install, as in not real visible. Definitely a nicer set-up, but I don’t think it was available in that era. Could be wrong though.

Assuming the paint isn’t that bad, $16K would be fair as noted by 26th.

Right you are! The period correct AC compressor would have been a huge York unit on a bracket surrounding the mechanical fuel pump. The AC switch pod screwed to the side of the center console looks right for the ARA era of the early '70s.

Lack of wear on the shift knob could indicate the stated mileage is correct....or the knob was replaced.

Not really a bad car. It just bothers me that the statement “the one and only deviation from factory stock configuration” was made, and the statement is not true. To me it’s false advertizing and it makes me question the buyers integrity. If he would have said that the car was “an excellent example of an original series 1 car”, it would not have bothered me that much. Anyway, just my thoughts.

I agree the AC compressor doesn't look period correct, but the AC control panel looks correct. As a side note, I've been debating whether to put the AC back into my car because I hate how it clutters up the engine bay, but I like the compressor mounted where the smog pump goes.
