Posted May 25, 201311 yr comment_424165 Can anyone tell me if they know what these two oval plates are from. They were in a box of old suspension components. They are about 1/16" thick and approximately 4" long. Thanks, Matt Edited May 25, 201311 yr by marvelous240Z Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/46629-help-identifying-parts/ Share on other sites

May 25, 201311 yr Author comment_424168 The plates measure 1/16" x 4-1/8" x 1-7/8" or in mm they measure 1.5mm x 104mm x 48mm. The holes are 7/16" or 11mm.Matt Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/46629-help-identifying-parts/#findComment-424168 Share on other sites

June 3, 201311 yr comment_424764 Out of curiosity, why is a plate required between the bracket and frame? If I'm visualizing correctly, it sounds like it would push the bar forward in vehicle, so maybe for packaging the bar? Perhaps your front bar is a larger aftermarket one and a PO removed the spacers to get it to fit? June 3, 201311 yr comment_424767 My car doesn't have the roll bar spacers (#907) though I know it has a reinforcement plate inside the frame rails but I think all of them have that reinforcement. I know the engine was replaced. June 4, 201311 yr comment_424835 Ah, I was wrong, the spacers move the bar down, not forward. Still odd, I can't think why they'd be there. On an off topic note, what is the component just above the sway bar in your picture, Mike? Your question mark is almost touching one of the bolt heads. I have a fair amount of oily coolant, or maybe watery oil, dripping off of mine. Sorry about the threadjack, but it's a good picture. June 4, 201311 yr comment_424838 bacarl,That is the oil pump, long may it continue to work well. I had a leak in the water pump recently but it didn't drip where you are experiencing it, it was dribbling down the front cover.
