Nissan aftermarket rims?

Recommended Posts

Help.... I bought some aftermarket rims for my 1971 240Z... They had "rally tires" on them which are extremely hard sidewalls. I took them to my favorite mechanic and he would have nothing to do with removing these and recommended a truck/farm tire store who did the job.. Now I have the rims and will strip them down and repaint them. We did try one on the car and they look great (but shabby). Now, for the problem... These will require half inch shank lug nuts but I am concerned that the ones I have are too narrow. I suspect I will need to order lug nuts, hopefully, from Nissan but first I have to identify the rims. I did the google search thing and came up empty...or at least nothing jumps out as to what they are... here is what I know from what is embossed on the rims... They clearly have the word NISSAN embossed in them... then are 15 inch rims; 7 inches wide and a gold snowflake pattern... also embossed in the rims are these codes.... 40300......6 JJ x 1510.......P9000...and finally FZ4.... Any suggestions as to lug nuts or what these rims are? I don't want to order Gorilla lug nuts 12mm 1.25 with a half inch shank if they are NOT thick enough.... and yes, I have contacted Nissan via email this weekend too... but I suspect someone will know on this forum... thanks!

If you post a picture of the wheels we can likely tell what they are instantly. Most of the aftermarket wheels would have normal tapered lug nuts. If you have lug nuts that look like this:

Motorsport! Lug Nut, Factory Mags, 77-83 280Z-280ZX - The Z Store! Nissan-Datsun 240Z-260Z-280Z-280ZX-300ZX(Z31/Z32)-350Z-370Z Parts

Those are for Nissan wheels from a later car. You may be able to buy them at a Nissan dealer but I don't know. They sometimes are available on Ebay, or for a whopping $7.69 each at the link above.
