Garage find - 1975 Datsun 280Z

It's hard to imagine the interior is in any better shape. Not really sure what you'd be buying here...

Perhaps, a "behind the barn" find. Or, discovered just outside the garage to use the seller's "Garage Find" term. That exterior has seen some weather over the years.

FWIW One thing to remember is that here in the deep south as opposed to the south west or the high country is cars will rust even if they are in the barn. If the paint has already been compromised then the humidity in the air is enough to cause the car to look like that. The bigger problem is the mold in the interior and the rusting inide the body cavities than the surface rust on the outside of the car.

Haha! I had the exact same thought when I saw this other Craigslist ad:

1976 Datsun 280z 2+2 barn find

When you say "Barn Find", the implication is that the car was INSIDE the barn, not simply the fact that there is a barn on the same property!! I mean, this is ridiculous!!

If you look closely, you can see parts of some wooden structure in the background of some of the pics. One can only assume that it's a barn?:stupid:

One of my favorite cliches in these ads is the use of the word "rare". Is the car rare because it's an automatic transmission or because of the condtion of the car?

Hilarious! The bidding was started by the seller at $200. Then "another" bidder came in and in the space of less than 30 seconds entered 4 bids that now stand at $1,200. Shell game anyone?

The reserve hasn't been met, yet, so I suppose the "bidder" could run it up by bidding against himself to just under the reserve price and then safely stop bidding. Gotta love ebay auctions.

That's the same car as the Craigslist ad I posted above. They drug the car out of the weeds and took some pictures in the open. It doesn't look any better in the light of day....
