Water proof car cover FH-602 for $32

I had cheap car cover bought from Big-A-Lots, but it did not last long.

I was looking for a bit durable but not so expensive car cover and I found this water proof car cover at Amazon.com for $32

It's sedan M size. It's quite nice fit onto Z.

Be cautious that the fabric may be sealed too well. Any cover that traps moisture within can lead to a buildup of condensation and encourage the tin worms to go to work. Car covers typically need to "breathe" to avoid a buildup of moisture.

I bought a cheap one at Wally World to keep dust and junk of my Z while in the garage. Jim is right, you have to be careful with some covers and old school bras. Twenty years ago, I had a sweet ZXTurbo with a bra installed and it got wet - nearly ruined the paint (which was new). Thank god for the Texas heat and polishing compound.

I had a 260Z 21 years ago that I kept outside with a vinyl cover that came with the car. The car had been kept in a garage by the PO and I didn't know about the importance of breathability. Moisture must have condensed under the cover causing a small area on the hood to become permanently fogged.

Thanks guy for your advice.

This is just for temporary purpose until my garage is clean up. I will remove the cover in every 3 days to breath air.

Soft PVC has plasticizers (softening agents) added that will migrate out and in to or on to anything that they touch. That could be where the fogging came from.
