Help me ID these wheel/rims?

I live next to a mechanic on his apprentice course who has taken a liking to my rim/wheels. He has offered to change all my tires over to his rim/wheels an put them back on my car. He recently helped me with my 240z (on which they are currently installed), which was partially race prepped by the previous owner.

I don't have any experience with this aspect of my car, and am wondering if there could be any reason asides from aesthetics that the previous owner had in mind when using these rims/wheel/tire combination.

No, the "trade for" rims are Toyota Celica/Supra GTS rims. 14x7 with a relatively deep RWD offset. They will fit a Z, but proper lug nuts are difficult to find, since Toyota uses 12x1.5 while Nissan used 12x1.25. I've seen them on Zs before, but not sure that I've ever seen them with lug nuts I'd trust.

The wheels on the car look very JDM to me, we would need to see if there is any ID cast or stamped in the back side.

Value? Hard to say, in both cases. The Celica wheels are rather wide and deep, may cause rubbing in front, and will be difficult to find tires for. I'd say go with whichever you personally like best. But check out the lug nuts carefully if you go with the Celica wheels.

The center bore on the Celica wheels is too small for the front hub. I had mine machined out or you could use a spacer with longer studs.
Good info, Steve, thanks! They don't look too bad on the car. But still all the 14" tire issues.

I could always re-use my current lug nuts for the first issue, and spacers would take care of both the potential to rub on the coilovers and the fitting of the hub (and give me more clearance than what I currently have - very tight!), but they look pricy to buy new. I'm leaving the decision with him; if he want's my wheels, he can buy spacers in addition to changing the tires over.
