Anybody has a good or rebuild differential for sale?

Recommended Posts

Hi Bart,

You can identify your diff by looking at the housing around the side shafts. If it has a flange with 5 M8 bolts holding the seals: its a R180. The R200 doesn't have them. The rear tranverse link with the rear anchors on the control arms will also be straight and not bent downwards like the ones on the R200.

An R200 will fit, but you need to change your Mustache bar, front mount and the transverse link. You can get the R200 locally in NL easy, but getting the rest might be a problem.

Chas

Edit: if you can get one shipped for $200 you should not hesitate. The weight is coming to be your problem.

:( how much are you thinking 200 dollar or more?

Rebuilding diff they ask 750 euro here ( without tax  )

No idea, never shipped to Europe before. It is quite heavy which is where the problem lies. It would probably be 70-80lb all boxed up. You can give me an address and I can see if I can get a quote for you. ;)

I got a shipping quote from Fedex for $554...

Has anyone shipped something like this overseas and gotten a reasonable rate (or is $554 "reasonable")?

Short answer: nope.

I dont think UPS will be much cheaper if any.

Its not size, its the weight thats the problem. Anything over 20kg and the shipping cost really kill the fun.

Then you have the import duties and the 21% tax on all of that. Thats whats worst of all. That $554 has $116 tax on it.

At that rate the $50 diff will cost around $750:angry:

Thats my frustration and no doubt Barts too.

Have you tried ordering a R180 from you local Nissan Dealer?

Secondy - lots of cars used the same R180 - most junk yards here have an interchange manual that will list all the current {up to 20 years old} cars that use an R180. Maybe you should try that..

I packed and shipped an R200 - it weighed 98 lbs - cost just under $100.00 to ship it from Flordia to Wis.... The R180's are a little lighter, but by the time you get them packed..they would be at least 70 to 80 lbs.

FWIW,

Carl B.
