Posted February 12, 200322 yr comment_26552 I came across a clean 260 dash would like to know if I can use this in my 77 280 I understand the wire harness and guages are different (those i presume can be swapped) other than that will this work? Also being a factory dash there is no UV protection is there a paste, spray or something that can be applied (outside of regular car care products) to protect it? February 12, 200322 yr comment_26553 You will have no problem mounting the 260 dash in the 280. There aren't any differances that I came across in bolt patterns when I compared my 78 dash to my 74...I think either escanlon or 2many can comment about what products they recommend on dash preservation Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/4686-dash-swap-260z-to-77-280z/#findComment-26553 Share on other sites
February 12, 200322 yr comment_26578 Try doing a search on this subject. I remember a couple of posts recommending a product a while back. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/4686-dash-swap-260z-to-77-280z/#findComment-26578 Share on other sites
February 13, 200322 yr Author comment_26628 Thanks Ed and St stephenI did the search and the thread I found was the one that originally educated me on the damage of UV rays. the only product mentioned for protection was a "Mothers" product to be applied every 30 days. What I wanted to know is there a product that would bring the old dash up to new dash protection. The Ultimate question is should I have my dash recovered with vynil that has the UV protection in it around $600 to $800 or buy a used factory dash for a over half of that, which may someday crack anyway.thanx again Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/4686-dash-swap-260z-to-77-280z/#findComment-26628 Share on other sites
