Posted February 13, 200322 yr comment_26594 I bought a nice 260 off ebay and was originally going to use it as a parts vehicle, but some one said they only made 800 of these cars and body wise it is sweet. Is this correct? This is an early 260 with the thin bumpers and it has the original pan from the radiator strut to the cross member. I have it stripped naked all the way to the unibody and before I do any surgery I'm just curious. I don't care for an automatic, my other is a 4 speed so enlighten me. February 13, 200322 yr comment_26598 My parts car is an automatic aswell. I dont know about the number of autos made. I dont think you will find it rare or worth more. That can change with time who knows. Today its still there for parts for me. :classic: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/4690-260-automatic/#findComment-26598 Share on other sites
February 13, 200322 yr comment_26616 If your 260 is a real early one they have a swaybar that I can use. The difference is that the bar as it extends across the body has two bends in it to clear the differential. Later cars were streight . I have a '73 and it was built 8/73 a real late one but it has the brackets for the sway bar but no bar. If you decide to part it out and it has the right part let me know. Gary as far as rare I think if it is kept completely origional concorse fresh that is , in the future it will be rare especially since it is an automatic. If it is modified then it is just another great Z:ermm: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/4690-260-automatic/#findComment-26616 Share on other sites
