Posted February 13, 200322 yr comment_26625 i've seen what is recommended by the factory to restore or fill the gaps present in defroster lines, but does anyone know what the OEM ones are made of or how they are applied to the glass?-e Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/4693-defroster-lines-material/ Share on other sites
February 13, 200322 yr comment_26680 I believe they are silk screened onto the glass. I've tested mine and can find no continuity anywhere! So, I'm thinking, all that I have left is the tracing of where the silver paint was once. Looks like I'll be painting the entire grid back. Got to remmember not to drink too much coffee on that day. Got to keep a steady hand. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/4693-defroster-lines-material/#findComment-26680 Share on other sites
February 13, 200322 yr comment_26685 Victor:Don't fight it. Get some of the special masking tape used for very precise masking and mask off on both sides of the grid. Then you can apply the conductive paint and later just peel off the masking. That's how you paint stripes on a car when you don't have or can't do the fine hand painted stripes.2¢ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/4693-defroster-lines-material/#findComment-26685 Share on other sites
