Where would i buy a flow meter for the su carbs? ive searched the internet and have come up with little to nothing helpful. If someone could give me a link or point me in the right direction that would be helpful.

I prefer this style of syncrometer over the ones shown above. It gives you an actual number instead of a position in a tube. So its faster and easier for me. Also it doesn't restrict the air into the motor.

I have both, but always use the one below.

I found a length of plastic tubing placed against the carb throat and the ear is very effective for balancing carbs. Just get the sucking sound for each one the same pitch. Easy.

We also sell them. Not getting rich off of them but do have them available...... There are probably ten Uni-Syns sitting in the bottom of tool boxes within five miles of where you are sitting owned by old guys who have owned old British stuff. Just a matter of finding that old guy..... nyuck nyuck

second the hose method. Same exact spot on each carb. I double checked mine with a synch tool and there was no difference.

Completely agree. I HAD both but gave my Unisyn away as the Weber tool is magnitudes better.

wow thanks for the replys guys! super helpful, i may have to buy two and also use the tube and ear method. I like to double and triple check my stuff.

on the syncrometer tool one, I see there are numbers. What number is good for good airflow?

Number doesn't matter, it will vary depending on many things, even the weather. The key is that you want both carbs to read the same.

Arne's right. Don't over think it. Just adjust the two so they flow the same whether you are reading a number, watching a bead rise in the tube or listen to the hiss....... Some of this stuff requires some discussion..... this topic, not so much.
