While working on yet another Z, I discovered these "gems".

Any one seen these before?

They appear to made from machined originals, the casting of the front end is too close.

There is a fair bit of corrosion and pitting on the end where the bushings go, not sure if I want to risk using them. Interesting concept at least. Stock mounting and bushings, but adjustable caster.

Anybody wants these (reads brave enough to try them) let me know...

Interesting concept. They look very much look like modified originals.

It could be someones "backyard workshop" fix. Someone with a lath who knew how to use it could make them eazily. Most companies like to stamp their name, part number or a symbol of some sort somewhere on their products.

Its odd they were not used in combination with some sort of camber adjustment like camber plates or adjustable lower control arm bushing.

Do you have any history from the PO?

The stock TC rod is just about exactly the right diameter to run a 5/8" tap down it. If you don't want to run them due to corrosion, should be really easy to duplicate with a RH and LH 5/8" die, probably 18 tpi.

Not knowing much about suspension is there an advantage to adjusting the suspension using adjustable T/C rods over just adjusting the steering rack tie rod ends? Assuming I understand the geometry.

Here is a quick run through of the geometry:

T/C rods adjust caster (the front to back tilt of the Strut)

Tie Rod ends adjust toe. (how parallel front wheels are to each other....the fronts can point in or out or not at all)

Camber is how the tops of each wheel tilt (in towards the car, or out away from the car, or not at all)

No history from the PO. Its new to him as well.

I'll check the thread Dia and pitch tonight and see how close Jon's eyeball guesstimate is. Anyone else want to guess? Little wager on the side, nudge nudge wink wink??

Looking this morning at the closeup picture of the control arm end, I'd swear the holes are drilled WAY off center relative to the casting shape on the top one. Bottom one looks alright.

Makes me want to think these are reproductions. Might just remain wall ornaments.

The same as it affects other rwd cars.

Adjustable TC rods are nothing new. They can be modified stock arms as shown or aftermarket TC rods like those sold by Techno Toy Tuning or other companies.

Never suggested adjustable T/C rods are new. I've had the original style AZC set on my Z for years. Allows me to never have the exact camber I want, ensures I always worry if the rod end lock nuts are staying tight, and produces a suspension compilance at a perfect bone jarring level that I love.

Just wondering if anyone else had seen this particular brand or type of them or new who made them. Pure interests sake.
