November 13, 201311 yr Author comment_435989 Tonight I ordered another $1600 worth of parts. Got the wheels/tires ordered, along with the complete weatherstripping kit, and a few random odds and ends. I can't wait to start putting this car back together. November 13, 201311 yr comment_435994 Nice colour, great work. It will look great when its back together. What grill are you planning to use with the 240Z bumper? The original bottom section tends to leave a big gap between it and the bumper due to the 280Z bumper being so big.Chas Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/47115-280z-full-restore-in-5-months-hopefully/?&page=7#findComment-435994 Share on other sites

Maybe have to make or modify a grill. Do you have any suggestions? That the route I took. Still debating on what to do with the section under the bumper though. Toying with the idea of going over to the 240Z Xeon air dam with the 240Z turn signals. I have the turn signal already so I can go either way. I ended up fitting the trim I mentioned in post #54. The brackets for the bumper are now aluminium, but it will be stainless steel when finished. Its not finished yet, but here are some photos. Im also open for suggestions. November 27, 201311 yr Author comment_436947 A little more progress has been made! I still have a ton to do before she's on the road. The big updates are, got the murder mat in, header back exhaust in (except muffler), and new shoes on. Murder Mat is in. I have good coverage on mostly everything. I hope it quiets the road a bit. Installing it is an art form, one that I'm not too good at. But I figure the carpets going over it, so it should be fine. It has Eibach lowering springs, but the back is sitting a bit too high. I'll wait till I get everything in, but I might have to chop the rear springs a little. Hopefully I can make some more progress this weekend. I can't wait to get this car on the road!! November 27, 201311 yr Author comment_436976 What is the specs for the wheels? They fit well in the photo. Starting to take shape now. Nice:DThe wheels I got from MSA. They are 17" Konig's with a +6mm offset. Tires are 205/50r17. Full lock to full lock nothing hits and everything clears well. I wanted 16" wheels, but couldn't find anything I liked, so I went up to 17". 15" I was worried wouldn't clear my brakes. Thanks for the positive comments. They really set it off. Love the last photo with the autumn colours. Hr369 tip is a good one. The 240z and 260Z tower insulators will lower it about an inch. If you cut springs, it will harden the ride because your shortening the spring length.
