Don't sweat the color - buy the BEST and most rust-free example that you can, and then get it repainted down the road. You'll be a lot happier getting a car painted than you will be having all the panels cut out and replaced.

^^^^ Debating to go resto/mod or old school mod, just saw a super clean 240 with an LS1 conversion at a local coffee/gas meet and got my head spinning, This is my current daily car>>> post-29515-14150825140353_thumb.jpg :cool:

That is the beautiful thing with a Z - old school / modded / classic / racing / tons of things you can do and several different engines with the classic body lines. A lot of parts from 240/260/280/and ZX's are interchangeable. It's all up to the owner on how and what they want to do - and the funds they want to spend.

Keep us posted on what you want to do with it once you find it

Yes - lots of things you can do with a 240Z. The car on EBay is a good example. Resto Mod - L28&5spd. No doubt at least twice, if not more the selling price was put into it. Whoever bought it at $11,600.00 got a really GREAT DEAL {providing everything was as advertised}.

For anyone looking for a 240Z to buy and just drive and enjoy - this one was a dream. If someone was looking for a Classic Car - this one wasn't it.

The same amount of work and money put into keeping it Pure Stock -if the Original L24 engine was still with it when purchased - - and it might have found a buyer at closer to $18K today.

I am in the drive and enjoy mode. I do have a list, I want a turn key car with a super strait gleaming body , a detailed interior, A/C a must have since this will be a fair weather toy, the drive train at optimum level. Add to this performance, it's a sports car. My budget is in the high teens to mid 20ts. So I need to focus on old school mods or newer resto mods, here is my dilemma :ermm:
