August 8, 201311 yr comment_429286 There are plenty of cars out there, you just have to know how to search. I am not sure how far you want to travel but the one below in Denver looks and sounds good. Appears to have been gone through bumper to bumper but has been kept completely stock, including the emissions equipment. I can tell you from personal experience you could not fix one up to the level that one is for the money they are asking, and that is their ASKING price. If you showed up with $11K they just might take it.1972 Datsun 240Z Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/47147-in-the-hunt-for-an-early-z-70717273/?&page=2#findComment-429286 Share on other sites
August 8, 201311 yr Author comment_429287 ^^ Hardway, thanks for the tip, really nice California specimen, good pictures but I really want one a bit more updated, this one will need suspension work for a better stance, wheels and A/C. I am in no rush and want to find a gem Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/47147-in-the-hunt-for-an-early-z-70717273/?&page=2#findComment-429287 Share on other sites
August 9, 201311 yr comment_429313 I'll sell you mine. Its a '73, professionally painted 905 red back in 2008. Tokico suspension, Konig rewinds, L28ET, 5-speed, intercooler. Beautiful but tempermental. Still needs some fine tuning. Make me an offer! August 9, 201311 yr Author comment_429321 Thanks for the offer, but lurking on this site, the L28ET seems to be as you mention a bit temperamental. I will be visiting San Diego CA, in a few days, work related, but do plan to check on two particular Z's, one is a 71 with an L28/5spd/A/C and a 73 with an LS1 conversion , will see . August 9, 201311 yr comment_429354 I have my Z listed for sale on our classifieds section. It runs and drives great and is an orangey yellow so it should check off a couple of your specifications. I have an A/C kit for the car that could go along with it, but isn't installed as of yet. Also, I just detailed it for a car show this weekend. It really couldn't get much shinier. 1972 240z, 1972, $ 12,000.00 Edited August 9, 201311 yr by hogie Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/47147-in-the-hunt-for-an-early-z-70717273/?&page=2#findComment-429354 Share on other sites

August 11, 201311 yr Author comment_429490 Hogie, your car is very nice, I really like what you did to it, but my next toy will eventually end up in SA. So I need to make sure that the upkeep will be done easy, the door and hatch locking electric feature will be a concern. The G nose and flares are mods, that yes can be added at post purchase, but if one is out there done correctly that is my aim in this hunt.
